I like the "grittieness" of the photo. It seems to fit the subject (as well as the B&W).

OLD

he does not look that old to me - but then again policemen look like kids to me these days.

Nice shot

Not I dont think he looks that old either - I think mature may be a better word!  I think its a really good shot.   Hes got a really 'strong' face and I think your choice of B&W is great.

Yeah, I concur, my first thought was that this really isn't an old man.
I like the photo a lot, the guy has a lot of character.  It's very noisy, obviously, but like some of the others have said, it seems to add to the gritty feel of the shot.  I get the impression that the guy didn't know you were taking his photograph?
Honestly, I'm still mixed on my feelings about taking people's pictures without their knowledge and posting them on the internet.  I have done it, too- and they can make for some fabulous candid shots- but I know I wouldn't be happy if someone did it to me or a loved one.  Usually I'll ask, or I'll take a quick shot and then ask.  But I'll save that for another discussion. Smile  (and maybe he did know in this case, I don't want to wrongly assume anything.  Just sharing my thoughts on a subject I know we've touched on here before)
Tarzan- you must be prettty close to me.  I'm in the Shreveport, LA area!!  Very Happy

Thanks so much for your comments.
I called him "old" probably because I'm pretty young...(j/k)...:-D
I shot this in front of Louisiana State Museum in New Orleans. Actually, he knew that I was taking photos and he tried to play with another man. He offered many people taking photos if they showed their interests.

Thanks again.

@Blue: I'm in College Station, TX; just about 4 hrs from your area. I'm working for an advanced degree in Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University, you may also know about this school...
Hope to see you..
