Simple process really...

I used:
camera!
macro lens
sutter release
Circular Polarising Filter
tripod
clear glass shelf
4 mugs
laptop

This is the setup:

A couple of important bits of information!!!
you dont have to use a laptop, if you have a TFT monitor you can lay that on the carpet and use that...

it has to be clear plastic...

In the picture the screen looks blank, its not! (i used a flash to take the pic) you need to have a white screen open..i used a blank MS Word document..

you need the glass shelf..you cant just lay the plastic on top of the monitor othewise you will see the pixels of the monitor in the background..

as i found out!

so from there on its just a case of twisting your circular polariser filter to change the white monitor to black...

oh, and deciding what to use as your bit of plastic!!! as you can see, these are of the inside of a CD case...but i have seen plastic knives and forks used which works well but it tough finding stuff that works..

then eventually you will find something that works great...
well pleased with this one..

and took this one while i had it all setup to write this post...cat food lid!!!

Its pretty ..but not something you would do a lot of i dont think..

Adam

Absolutely brilliant! Thank you so much Adam. I'd been racking my brains to guess what it was and came up with zilch. Well done mate.
