very pretty & i love the dof
however i feel the yellow flower is very dominant in the frame & distracts your attention away from the main subject ....think i'd crop/clone it out

Fantastic DOF, and great colouring....... Smile

I agree with GW though, and the out of focus yellow flower does pull the eye away from the subject a bit.

I'd not clone or crop it out though - i'd probably just burn it in PS a little to take the edge off it...  (i think)

I am not sure I agree about the big yellow, I like the story, and whilst this is a good shot, macros of flowers are kind of two a penny, whereas this shot has the big neighbour thing going on which appeals to me a lot. So I think nicely spotted and nicely done.

edit: Just to add a bit more. I keep coming back to have another look at this shot because I really like the high tension between the foreground flower and the big yellow. I like this shot more and more as I look at it.

thanks so much for your kind compliments and your advices. Actually the big yellow flower was there on purpose. I do have another shot without the yellow one. your further comments appreciated. Thanks.
