Some nice shots under what looks like rather flat conditions. I noticed from your exif that you've been putting a bit of positive compensation in there - is this something you've found you've had to do a lot with the D200 or was it specific to the conditions/spot metering?
I only ask because i've been adding positive compensation with the d2xs too

Thanks Jon
it was conditions along with spot metering, trying to get a decent exposure was difficult to say the least, took iso up to 400 on a number of shots (do not like going higher with the iso - too noisy, especially when image cropped and zoomed in).- and it was still telling "Lo".
Would have liked to have taken a faster lens (70-200 2.8 would have been lovely) but was travelling light and only took the kit lens.

Looks like a very photogenic place Dave, any plans to go back / would you recommend it?
Like John as said, doesn't look like you had the best of conditions light etc but you made a good job never the less.
Have you found the D200 copes better with poor conditions than the D70 did?

Great framing, really amazing and in some occasions very inetresting poins of view.
Very nice photos, you've really made the best of harsh conditions. Defintilly shows that you don't need good weather to take great photos.

Go back - definitely, well recommended, but be warned expensive, for those that drink beer, £6.50 a pint (that's a Monaco pint which is short).
With regard d200 v d70, 200 wins, but as you know, its also down to lenses and I didn't take the better lens due to weight.
Evo, may thanks for the comments, I really tried for these shots, would have loved to get some better marina shots but it was so grey!!!
The Lady Maura (boat in latest James Bond film was there, but still working to get best image of it - will post when I am reasonably happy.
If you ever get the chance - go
