I don't shoot in RAW but just came across a tip that might be useful. When adjusting the Exposure and Shadows in Photoshop, if you hold the ALT key (Option key on Macs, I believe) down whilst moving the sliders you can see the areas being affected at the extreme ends. For Exposure the screen goes black and as you move the slider to the right areas that are becoming over exposed begin to show, and for Shadows the screen goes white and as you move the slider to the right you can see those areas that are being most affected at a glance. Hope that makes sense and apologies to all you RAW shooters if this is teaching gran to suck eggs.
