Any Help Would Help

Hi guys, as part of my photoclub we do a digital evening every second monday, next week we are supposed to be having a talk by someone on Curves, but, that someone has pulled out, so I was wondering, can anyone do a quite comprehensive how-to on curves that I can plagiarise and use as notes to give the talk myself.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Can only say sorry, have had lots of magazine articles in the past, but cleared out before I could scan them

I've put up a video tutorial to have a look at. I'll leave it up for a week or so. (edit) Just to add, it's a video about 'how' rather than 'why'. I take the position, somewhat, that it's more important to know 'how' than 'why' a lot of the time, certainly in the first instance. A bit like Chris's thing about f-stop/aperture and shutter speed. It's important to know how to use the hole the light gets in and how to control how much light gets in it, once you've got that 'why' can come later.

The start image they use is here:

The tutorial is compressed and zipped (if you have any problems with the compressed file, let me know):

I have now removed this to save myself pennies.

I've been racking my brains and wasting SO much time at work looking for information on this - it's really quite an interesting subject.

What I did find was quite a good collection of photographs with curves as the subject, and the work is very varied. Have a look at the link below - maybe you could discuss how curves can be found in so many objects. It makes you think...

I seem to recognize a couple of those shots, but plenty of curves around

Think somepeople have the wrong end of the stick, or log, whichever. I meant the curves function in CS2. sorry for confusion. shall have a look at the online tutorials today, sometime, after I have tidied the bomb site that is my excuse for a kitchen, hmmm, beer, pie, tv....bed, polished the car done some shopping. god I sound like a lady, I must be hormonal.

What with everything going on at the moment i never made it. which i'm a bit pissed about to be honest, i'll try and read up about them anyhow.
Would people like me to do a write up on them since it looks like noone really know's what they are about, if i get the chance?

I would certainly like t know what you are on about if not the curves palette. So, yes.

I'll second that
