Following a trend...I was reflecting this morning, looking at Carl's pictures on 'Now is anyone beginning to see a trend developing?' Photography is a waiting game, and I am used to waiting for light, and I am used to the waiting involved in setting up a shot in the studio, but there's also the waiting/watching game involved in macro photography, capturing insects. I rather like standing in my garden/wherever just looking. I don't think I shall ever be a wild life, of whatever sort, photographer, but it's really good to get fired up to try different stuff, I suspect it's something I'll dip in to every now and again. Thanks Carl.

Keith, if you ever did, I'd have to give up
Love number 2 - reminds me of the promo posters for Spiderman 3 - good spidey/venom image!

Thanks Carl. More than anything else I just wanted some clear shots of their eyes. I was much taken with the pair in No 2, I was hoping and praying I wouldn't disturb them as I crept up on them, but they were very obliging.

Well I think you've succeeded in doing that Keith!
You've done great, they are always nervous little buggers. Some SAS training might help to sneak up on them
Agree with Carl number 2, would also make a great Caption shot.
What sort of setting are you using?, if you don't mind me asking.

Thanks Mike, and I agree about the SAS training. It was bright and breezy, so I was juggling DoF with shutter speed, trying to catch them in all too brief lulls in the wind. This was shot at F7.1, ISO 100, 1/320. They were being blown all over the place so it was a real waiting game.

Good man! After all, if the man says it's a trend who are we to argue.

I like the first one - very good, if an ugly bugger.
The third looks so cute - like a professional portrait of someone's pet
Have a license tag for that fly Keith? lol
Good stuff!

Thanks again for your comments, 'Claude' thinks we're alright too, for lumbering giants that is. (he's a bit put out by the license tag reference there Mike, best keep your voice down.)

Thanks Simon, I was going to try for a gold tooth effect as well, but, y'know, there's a limit to buggering about.
