Harvest moon?

I guess with the 'exaggerated' moon that these shot's / pieces would be deemed abstract  Smile

The basis for the piece's was my monthly comp entry  Embarassed

I think i prefer the first one personally, but keep returning to the second (disregarding the nasty font) for another peep........  Rolling Eyes

The second ones a looks great but even though the theme is an exaggerated moon I still think it could be a little smaller!
derek

I rather like the large moon in the first shot.  Smile

I agree about the first shot, it has more of a sci-fi feel to it that works.
BA Fly

I prefer the second (think that might be down to the colours though).

The moon could be a little smaller I think, and maybe some reflection/highlight on the water too?

Glad to see some one agrees with me Evil ... Very Happy

its under a category called 'abstract' (shouldn't that ought to suggest that its somewhat unreal?).......  Rolling Eyes

Its also 'abstract' due to the fact that you'll NEVER see a moon in a setting sun sky  Smile   (think about it  Shocked )

I met someone a while back who absolutely refused to believe that the moons light was reflected sunlight. I can't now remember what they thought was going on because my ghast was too flabbered. I walked away and must confess I had serious doubts about their place in the food chain.

Reminds me of someone on another forum who is a really good photographer, but has a habit of adding an image of the moon to some of his pictures. Invariably, the shadows cast on the moon are from a different (opposite) direction than those cast from the sun in the rest of the image. I pointed that out to him one day and he basically told me I was nuts and the shadows were fine.

You will prob not see a moon at all it about 30 years given the fact its falling out of earths gravity at 4cms a year.

Just thought Id add that. Very Happy
hil26

4cm a year for 30 years = 120cm - 4 feet in old money, think the moon will still be in the sky along with a few of us TOG's

now now Keith - that sky is waaaaay false!  Rolling Eyes

@ Chris - it think at 4cm a year even your kids kids kids (should I be bold enough to assume you have / will have some one day) will be able to see it!  Rolling Eyes

Even if not, getting there will be cheap as chips, so we could all just pop out to see it!  Very Happy
