Heron - help please!

Hello, i have no idea why this turned out soo dark, i haven't bought any software yet. Any suggestions or is it hopeless??

This is about the best I can do, and I can see why you wanted to try. What I've done is to sort the levels out which produced a very harsh, stark image, reduced the saturation a little, reduced the reds and increased the yellow through the levels palette, then used digital camera noise reduction in PSP by selecting the darkest areas on the water to smooth the image. It's a shot that might turn into an art image, but it's really too far gone to resurrect as a photo.

I very much appreciate your trying, thank you! I'm bummed, it could have been a great shot! Hope you have a wonderful day. Smile

I've had a couple of shots like that, turned out that I had forgotten to change the exposure settings from previous shoot!! -

Its difficult to work on a low res file to get decent results, normally if it is underexposed there is a good chance you can save the photo, so all is not lost, however the other way overexposed then delete or in the bin is the best no way to recover that one.

If you want send me the original and i wil see if i do any more you can send it to andylee.nz@gmail.com if you wish.
