Hunstanton clouds

Sunday last at Hunstanton - rather windy.

Nice big skies. Can I suggest, especially with day time clouds, a little post production? If you use the curves palette and introduce a gentle S curve, Left side push down, right side push up, you will introduce a bit more contrast/drama and then follow that by pushing the saturation up between 10 and 25. If that is all gobbledegook, let me know and I'll do a walk through.

Thanks Keith. I don't do Photoshop (because I can't! lol) but I followed your instructions and here is the result.

Many thanks for taking the time to explain the tweak.

Cheers, Derek

Marvellous and glad it helped.

Since discovering Ken Rockwell I now have my camera set on Enhanced saturation and Color Mode IIIa so pictures require very little post production. The settings for the D80 are here, see custom settings. http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d80/users-guide/menus-shooting.htm He covers most of the popular DSLR's and whilst I don't agree with all he suggests, like image quality, he is a mine of useful information.
