Splendid shot. I love the winter feel of IR. Hope to see more like it Smile

gonna have to have a go one day with IR - how many exposures did you take? REason I ask is it looks like you may have been a shade too long - but then again, I haven't done any IR so do not have too much of a clue.

Me too Dave, it has great appeal, great stuff Tony. I just want to start blending and messing, especially in the studio.

Looks like you've got a bit of sensor dirt just above and to the right of the gable end chimney on the left.

o yea cheers ill have a look now, as for exposures i didnt take another one of this spot, dont know why.

in bright sunshine your looking at about 6 to 8 seconds Smile

I've had some success using autofocus and matrix metering with the filter attached, but it does pay to bracket far and wide Smile

IRs are amazing I think! They have a real dreamy feel to them.I like this shot but id try to add a little contrast.

I think the reason theres not a lot of contrast in the whites is because i left the wb on auto, ive recently read to set the cameras wb to green or incandescent +3.

Also the dust spots: ive looked at the sensor and its spotless, where its come from is the little pieces of dust on the black infared filter - phewww

Duh, when I responded I forgot that one, course there was no filter on for that shot.  Embarassed

Dust on the lens is so diffused as to be invisible.

Remove the guesswork: set custom wb (refer to camera manual) by taking a shot to use as a wb setting with the filter on (shoot at a sunny piece of grass) and you're sorted.

Ok, so you have to fit the filter, get a wb setting, remove the filter, compose, re-attach the filter, but hey.. a little hard work is worth it when you're shooting near-ir Smile
