Jessops and discountJust tried the xmas discount for the d200, priced at £882 today (Sunday 19th Nov) and the code Donder gave another £50 off.. - camera available online at £832 plus p&p - just have not got quite enough to go for it yet
This price reduction on the d200 has got me puzzled, as its now considerably cheaper than it was just a couple of months ago. Another model on the horizon???? T'was the same when I got the d70, just a few months later, out came the 70s - not complaining, as update wasn't a great improvement and the menu system was sorted with the firmware update but......... :

Yeh know what your saying but trying to keep up with technology is both a expensive and dangerous game. I recently brought the Canon 5D and i here wispers that a 6D is on the way early next year, but i have a camera that is exactly what i wanted, is tried and tested, so i'm happy.
If you wait for the D200 replacement it will be 1) more expensive (normally) and 2) not a proven / tested model.
If the D200 ticks your boxes then its the camera for you if there is still things you want which the D200 doesn't provide, then maybe its worth waiting to see what Nikon turn out next.
Just a thought

you havent got to stand infront of the camera! on the front left hand side of the camera as you stand behind it is the senser thing! if you stand behind the camera and point at the senser with the remote it works spot on! thats how i do all my night pictures with the shutter open ect!
