Hi MrsP and welcome to the forum.
Like your website especially 'Sunset over Table Mountain' think the sky is great might be worth lifting the saturation a touch, but on the whole i say you've got a good eye for a photo. Looking forward to seeing more, keep up the good work

and welcome, just had a look at your photos, on the whole, very good considering you say you are a beginner. The wasp/bee in the bottle brush is out of focus, but thats a depth of field issue, and one that you will soon get used to. So what camera did you get? |

Well, thanks guys! I bought the Fuji 5600, as it was the only one I could afford, but must say that I am very happy. I have been playing around with the settings, and even though it is very daunting, must say it is a lot of fun too. My latest, and the ones I am most proud of, have been added to my "portfolio" |

Welcome. If I had taken pictures like that when I first laid hands on a camera I'd have been chuffed to bits. Great start. Only suggestion right now is to watch the focus. Do you have a tripod yet, if not, don't go the Jessops own route. It's worth the extra for a Manfrotto, solid as a rock. | ||

...very good effort..my advice, with the penguin photos...they would have been much better if you had got down to their eye level...shooting things from above makes them look small...getting down to their level and focusing on the eye would have given the shot an extra something.. |

I would have liked to get closer, but it was impossible. This shot was taken with my Nokia N70 and I was doing a balancing act over the banister to get as close to him as possible! |

Thanks! I bought a Unomat tripod with the camera. I'm still struggling to get focus sorted. On the screen it looks perfect and does not give me any warnings about being out of focus, and only once downloaded does it show. hil26 mentioned something about "depth of field", which is an issue, but I still need to work on this. |

Well guys and girls, I must say thank you very much. I never expected to receive this much feedback and all of your tips are highly appreciated. Going out today on another "shoot" and can't wait to get your feedback on my new pics, to be posted tomorrow.  Thanks, thanks, thanks!
