looks quite noisy - high ISO?

Ahem, I put the the wrong image up, this is the one I meant to post. Still quite noisy. It's a 1/1 crop, f2.8, ISO 100 (as was the other one but with some unsharp mask added) 1/13 exposure.

Ah, OK.

Reminds me of a picture I took a few years ago...

The photo was purely to give a sense of scale. It's a little beetle perched on the top of a Dafodil's stamen.
To the beetle, the cavernous drop below him looks immense, but it's only just over 1 inch in depth.

Nice shot. Wish I could have persuaded a Ladybird to play.

excellent shots all round but I like the first one,it has an oil painting feel to it,.What kind of macro gear do you have,Im using the highly complicated and technical...ahem reversed lens trick.

Thanks Chris, I actually like the first one as well, it been growing on me more and more for the same reason.

I am the happy owner of a Sigma 50mm 1:2.8 Macro Prime lens. Brilliant! And a macro slide which helps enormously.
