New granddaughterMy new granddaughter (3rd g-child) was born Wednesday morning. I took these pictures in the dim hospiyal room with the built in flash and the kit lens (18-55) on my new Nikon D40.
I know baby pictures, unless "Ann Geddess" like are pretty boring to anyone not related to the baby, I just thought I would post them because I am impressed with the color on the D40. It was in "auto" settings.
I hope to start fooling with the other settings shortly.

Very nice and congratulations, looks like the D40 came along at the right time. Theres going to be plenty of photo opportunities there to get more familiar with your camera and the best thing, the models free

Do you think the color is too saturated?

I don't think so, the flash was maybe a touch strong on the first one but the others are fine.
I personally like B&W shots of kids, took alot of my daughters when they were small and still do, try some.

I agree too, and would love to see some B & W shots as Mike suggested. Dunno what it is with black and white and babies, but they do seem to work rather well.
