Now know what Jonh was on about when commenting on black background, this was a pain, still not overhappy with it, some photochopping maybe, when I get a minute to do it.
Again 3 Raw files in Photomatix.
Background was black card, and now I look at it, the card is full of white speckles, live and learn, as we don't have any black sheets. Any ideas?

Love this shot, what type of flower is it?
I use a sheet of Matt A2 card from Partners, as i found the Gloss gave me white speckles. What I have now for bigger subjects (portraits) is a Black sheet (it was originaly white but a bucket, water and some dye soon sorted that, don't forget the marigolds lol).

Lovely shot!
For close work I use matt black mounting board (sounds like the same as Mike is recommending), available from any good art shop. For portrait work I use a 7 x 8 foot backing of black jersey on one side and white lining material on the other. As long as the model is 4 to 6 feet away from the backing, I can usually do something about imperfections on the black by cloning them out and on the white by having a dedicated slave flash on it. I'm still learning the ropes on indoor studio work but this is where trial and error has got me so far.
