Hmm? I can see it - tried both Internet Explorer and FireFox?
No idea...

Hey- there it is! Weird, it wasn't there before. Anyway, def. thumbs up from me! The only thing I'm not sure about is the flower in the background. I can't decide if it gives a nice sense of place, or is just a distraction. I wonder if it would work a little better there if you toned the yellow down some, kind of like what Keith did in one of his recent pics of the fuscia in the wildlife section. Either way, though, the foreground flower is a real beauty.

Thanks everyone for the input.

This was one of those shots...

It was unplanned. I was out back sitting on my deck. It was about sunset, or a little past. A heavily overcast, almost ominous, evening. It was starting to get dark - and I saw these tiny flowers, perhaps 10mm across, and they caught my eye. The saturated colour popped in the dim light.

So I grabbed the camera and tripod.

As usual, what my mind's eye saw is not what I saw through the viewfinder. But I still thought there was a potentially interesting photo here somewhere.

Shot at ISO 100 in ambient (very dim) light.

I think the long exposure contributed to the soft focus. Fortunately there was absolutely no breeze stirring - of course that meant my glasses were fogging up from the humidty and I couldn't see anything clearly through the viewfinder Smilie_PDT

I thought I captured a pretty good image and the composition was not bad. But the more I looked at it, the more I found fault and started to compile a list of reasons why this image was no good. I nearly convinced myself to delete it.

Thanks for the positive comments which have resurrected this from the trash bin Smilie_PDT
