I have, with some nervousness, just floated a few adverts for people to come into the studio for free (TFP {Time for Pictures}). I am very aware that I need to expand my portfolio so that people visiting my site can see as wide a range of work as possible. I've ummed and arred about this and decided that building up my studio profile is an organic process which, somewhere down the line, may well bring me an income, but I haven't got to that place yet, it's my own profile I need to be looking at. Also with where it's all going in mind, I need to have some sort of presence, getting me on the social/photography map and into peoples awareness and my preferred method of gaining that presence would be word of mouth and recommendations. If my studio is going to grow, I just need to get it used and my hope is that the rest will follow. That's the current plan, what do you think?

I have also just submitted some samples for a paid product shoot, my first, these are what I sent. C&C appreciated.

Well done Keith, and hope it goes to plan - good luck with the venture.

On the product shots

Think you should "clean up" the black bag and the black background on images 1, 2 , 3 and 4 - looks like a stray hair on one of them, and the spots of "dusts" do detract. I feel that images for product shoots need to be spotless.

The fifth image, omen - on white - looks lost - what about a slightly different colour background?

Thanks so much Dave, I did notice the 'dust' (after) but not the hair and thought I should have paid more attention to cleaning things up. I offered the black and white backgrounds as possibilities, but felt the black was a better option, but was giving him a choice. A different colour would need to be another conversation, as I am not sure what his preferences are. Thanks again.

Well done Keith and good luck even though I'm sure it won't be needed, I agree with Dave about the black bag requires a clean up and I'm also not sure about the Omen on white but apart from a black background not sure what others may work.

Thanks Mike, just back from buying a suede brush and some, black, maroon and grey velvet. No excuse now.
