Out and about delivering xmas cards, stopped to take this photo by a local reservoir.

then i saw this and snapped it quickly - my first attempt at trying to photograph a bird in flight and very little time to change lense and focus. I know they're not great shots but at least they're not all blurred! I think its a red kite

A view spoilt by wind turbines

Good work, tricky stuff getting birds on the wing. They couldn't have made those windmills any more intrusive if they'd tried. What a bloody eyesore.  Mad

Unless they'd made them the shape of a giant coal/oil burning power station you mean ;)

Thanks everyone. I was sitting in my car, trying to get another lens out of my bag when I saw it. So quite a miracle I managed to get any shots of it at all.

It seems you can see those windmills from all over Northamptonshire. They are of the tallest type in this country I believe. They look very spooky in fog - War of the Worlds type of spooky.

Off to Cornwall tomorrow for the New Year so no more photos from me till after then.

A Happy and Peaceful  New Year to you all

derek @ barbara
