Well, as a smoker and someone who gets absolutely livid when people tell me how I should live my life and what I should or should not do, I don't give a tinkers cuss if people get morally offended by pictures like this. Oh, I could rant on for hours about it..... but I wont.
Having said that, I think you missed it here mate, the light is so fierce on the face it detracts from the image and diminishes the effect of the smoke which could have withstood more light. But good to see you playing with this stuff. _________________

I always love good back-lit images. But have to agree with Keith's assessment here. The lighting seems too harsh, and the angle perhaps too sharp. The exhaled smoke seems... ? ... contrived? There's something about the angle and direction that doesn't come across as natural. Maybe because I have this preconceived notion about the 30's and 40's Hollywood romantic images?
But I applaud your attempt - there is definitely a great shot here. _________________ see my photography at john.seelbinder.org
Think it's already been said the angle of the lighting needs adjusting to make it less fierce on the face then you'll have a great shot. _________________
