Taken from Haleakale volcano on Maui.......  02:30 start, and a 90 minute drive to the top, sat in a soft top jeep in shorts (long shorts) and a sweater, as it was 6degC.  Thank goodness for the car heater......  Still once the golden orb showed.....  it was worth EVERY shivery minute.

Beautiful - it must have been magical to be taking those photos from where you were and experiencing this wonderful sunrise.  90 minutes drive up WOW how high is it?

its 10,035ft high....  and we drove from sea level too.  i'm sure the views on the way up were fab, but it was pitch black  Sad
