I like the first 2. On the 3rd one, I think I would have cropped the branches on the left and included a bit more train.
Were these taken at Swanage? If so, did one of these trains come down from London? I only ask because my mother, who lives in Weymouth, was telling me all about this today.
I've visited Sherborne whilst staying at my Mother's. Very nice place I thought. _________________ happy 50th birthday - motown records
i like the 2nd one but am wondering if that's the only one you took of all the moving bits - it's a goldmine of abstract patterns and shapes _________________ There is nothing in life that cannot be improved with either monkeys, pirates or ninjas NPU Member
Not sure about the third one at all - think if another opportunity comes up, then same shot but taken in portrait mode would work better.
2nd one - like it, composition/framing with the bodyworks works for me.
1st one - think I might have cropped off that cameraman and the intrusion from the left. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------

Hi all
Many thanks for your comments. I thought that the third picture was a tad dark at the front of the loco? Yes I think it should fill more of the frame. It was a difficult shot as I was more or less into the sun.
I havent as yet shot any more pics of the working parts of locomotives apart from a shot or two of the footplate controls.
These were taken at West Somerset railway gala and are just a small example of what I took.
