Well ive heard that you can flash your camera with some other software to open up other options in your menus. Now i know that this would void your warrenty but once its out of warrenty it could be worth the go. I have seen some of the older canon dslr that can not be switched to do black and white and heard that you can flash it to open that. But what i was wondering was if i could flash my 400d so that i can adjust the K factor in white balance. i know you can adjust the figure on say the 40d but was wondering if you can open it up on the 400d.
Can't help you with the firmware question, but of course if you shoot raw, you can fix your balance (and even do it for several photos at once) as you load the shots into your raw processor of choice _________________ There is nothing in life that cannot be improved with either monkeys, pirates or ninjas NPU Member
I'd be wary of updating your firmware to that of a non-standard one for your camera.
I'd stick to shooting RAW as jonH suggests and correcting in software. _________________ --
