A little while ago I purchased this monitor - 24 inch screen, and can take HDMI connections along with others. No sound, need to purchase extra speakers if you want that. Paid £9 on ebay for Dell soundbar which works a treat and looks fine, no desk space or floor space taken up with speakers.

It's a great screen size but default settings make it very bright, tried calibrating with my Spyder 2, but it does not work on this monitor due to the gamut range of the monitor. So a bit of trial and error and I got it something like. But then couldn't get my prints to match the screen. Aggghhh!!!!!

So sold Spyder, and purchased a Colormunki - calibrates both screen and monitor and I have now got something very near to what is on the screen.

But, prints started showing details in shadows where I could not see them on the screen - unless I move my head to one side when they show up!!!

Trawling around the internet for answers, it seems that this is an issue on this monitor. Details in the shadows are not easily seen when viewed straight on, but moving your head to side does show the details.

Would I have bought it knowing - still a yes, as I think even with this issue it is still great value for money, considering the other options at up by £1k in price.

I'm a huge fan of Eizo monitors, but they are soo expensive!

I have seen the DELL and it does look fantastic, the moving your head to see detail is a bit odd though. Which graphics card do you have?

Pete - the problem is the monitor not the card, as all other people who have noticed this have different machines/cards.

But it is an Nvidea geoforce 750

You do get what you pay for with screens, although at least you know the problem now and can work around it.

I have two LG 19" screens that are great - they weren't expensive and do the job although I constantly covet the Apple Cinema displays

I've got a Dell E228WFP monitor. I've not noticed any problems, more than happy with it. You can bet I'll be tilting my head now though to see if I can spot anything!
