when it gets to the photshop bit they start making her neck longer and her eyes wider and all that....any idea how they do it oh photoshop guru of ours?!?!?
HI Adam, I know some of the stuff they do, but the neck elongation isn't one of them and it's something I've been meaning to look at because you can use the same thing to extrude buildings. However, to do the cheeks, eyes, lips and so on they use the Filter > Liquefy palette. There's a whole bundle of tools in there and a reconstruct tool to undo bits that have gone belly up, or to restore the whole thing, hold down Alt and Cancel turns to Reset.
Here's a quick jobbie I've done on Leah, (crude but ya know..) that gives a vague idea of what's available (she may never speak to me again). I did her neck by moving her head and cloning, healing and smudging.
cheers Keith..i will have a play over the weekend and show you anything i come up with!!! not sure why i would need to use something like that but its always interesting to know these things..
i will have a play and let you know!!
Leah will be thrilled with what you have done to her there!!
Although I have messed about with them, they aren't tools I have used much because I kind of feel it's insulting to family and friends to remodel them, whereas the Dove thing is selling the dream for big bucks, as it were.
Were you being tongue in cheek? I don't think Leah will thank me for turning her into an anorexic giraffe (but it was only a demo). _________________
i was, yes...i dont think Leah will be too pleased at all..but it serves a purpose of showing us whats possible so i am sure she will understand, i hope!
as i said, i am not sure what i would use the technique for, for the same reasons you stated...its one thing removing a line or a spot, but reshaping someone features is a little strong...
but i thought i was interesting and wanted to know how it was done and i figured you were the man to ask!!
i will have a play with a pic of the wife to see what happens, but again, i am sure she wont be pleased with the outcome!
If and when I get to hiring I may not feel so constrained, he who pays the piper, and all that, but even then, although I unashamedly chop, it doesn't feel right and I can't imagine it feeling otherwise. _________________
I still don’t know if I am coming or going with all this photoshop stuff...
one minute I am giving my wife and her friend the model look by doing the whole Gaussian blur thing and taking out the lines around their eyes etc and thinking I have cracked portraits, then I am looking through a book by Martin Schoeller (Close Up) which celebrates close up, honest, portraits that have not been touched up and i am thinking they are amazing...
so what are you supposed to do!?!?!
from what i have discovered recently, generally speaking, a natural shot is far more "interesting" to look at, but a touched up shot is appreciated more by the model and can be more aesthetically pleasing...
i dont see that there is a happy middle ground either, so its tricky!
Hope leah is being paid huge sums of money for this, well at least an Easter Egg _________________ -----------------------------------------------------

For me it's about personal style and what appeals to me. I love that super smooth look, like the alabaster eyes, maybe I bought the Hollywood bull, maybe that makes me a sexist pig, but it inspires me and fires me up, so I do it. There's been a lot of nonsense knocking men and what men like for a very long time, and I just got fed up with it all. I like what I like. You sure don't have to like what I like, and I change over time and will be somewhere else in while. Quite honestly I am learning to care less, without turning into an insensitive clod, I hope. _________________
Moving away from your original post but staying on the highly stylized front. I didn't take these pictures but did apply the style. Again, it's a style that really appeals to me for a certain type of picture and I think works brilliantly in these.

seems like a good line to take Keith....

like the first one...gives it a very dreamy feel...
i can imagine it works well with photos of kids for some reason...
i have a few pics of my kids in fields and stuff..think it would work well..
what did you do to um?!?!?
Duplicate the image and set the top layer to Overlay. Desaturate the bottom image and apply a Diffuse Glow (this one was Grain 0, Glow 5 and Clear 15), then on the Hue Saturation, click colorize and keep the saturation low (20 on this one) and select a hue you thinks works (I chose 220).

It's horses for courses eh? I operate less on what can I do with the picture, as what does the picture suggest to me. You've seen pictures of me and a makeover on me is about the daftest thing you'll ever see. _________________
